Garden design
A measured survey, a concept you can react to, then detailed drawings and planting plans ready to build from.
- Measured survey and site analysis
- Concept design and mood boards
- Construction drawings and planting plan
Design, construction and planting for private gardens across Surrey and the South East, by one small team from first sketch to final planting.
View our gardensEvery garden starts with a slow walk round. We look at the light, the levels and the views from the kitchen window before drawing anything. Then the same people who designed it build it, so nothing is lost between the plan and the ground.
Our approach
Featured garden
A front garden rebuilt to suit a 1760s townhouse: a reclaimed-brick wall on a stone plinth, a painted iron gate and roses trained to soften the line of the house.
They listened properly. The garden feels like ours, not a showroom, and the build team left the site tidy every single evening.Homeowner, Georgian townhouse garden

"We wanted the front of the house to look as if it had always been like this."
The owners, at the first visit
A tired concrete wall, a sloping path and a narrow strip of soil left the 1760s house looking bare from the street. Any new work had to suit a conservation area and the original brickwork.
We needed a wall that read as old the day it was finished, planting that softened it within one season, and a path that felt generous without losing the front lawn.

We rebuilt the wall in reclaimed Surrey stock brick on a stone plinth, laid in lime mortar to match the house. A painted iron gate replaced the timber one, and the path was relaid in brick with a gentle curve to ease the slope.
Along the wall we planted climbing roses and a loose border of lavender, Alchemilla and Nepeta, chosen to flower from May to September and to keep their shape through winter.
Whole gardens, or one part done exceptionally well. Most clients ask us for design and build together.
A measured survey, a concept you can react to, then detailed drawings and planting plans ready to build from.
Our own team builds what we design, with a site lead, a weekly update and a walk-round at handover.
Terraces, paths, steps and walls in natural stone, reclaimed brick and gravel, laid on proper foundations.
Plants chosen for your soil and aspect, with structure for winter and colour through the seasons.
Natural ponds, rills and still water, with low lighting so the garden works after dark.
Seasonal visits to feed, prune and adjust, so the garden settles in the way it was designed to.

A first visit costs nothing and usually answers that question.

A garden should look as if it belongs to the building beside it, in its materials, proportions and colours.
Evergreen structure and bulbs mean the garden looks good in February as well as June.
Proper foundations, lime mortars and hardwoods. We'd rather do fewer gardens and do them properly.
